11th performance:
Mariya Tsekalo's Sweet 16, March 16, 2001
SONGS: Spiderwebs, Just A Girl, Wipeout, Beat It
NOTES: In their triumphant return to the Sweet 16 stage, two veterans of Jagged Star (Brian-guitar, Blase-bass) teamed up with Paul Bachmann (vox), Boris Khaykin (guitar), and Steve Ondishin (drums) yet again as the "beat it band" called Berry Jive and The Bachmann Five. The first two songs are No Doubt covers, as per Mariya's request. Wipeout is a Surfaris cover that wasn't rehearsed. Beat It is still a Michael Jackson cover, although it was not on the original set-list (the first request!). The choreographed ska jumping may have been corny and the songs may have slowed down, but it sure beat the last Sweet 16.

10th performance:
J.P. Stevens High School 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands, January 11, 2002
SONGS: Unspoken, In The End, (Sweet Home Alabama- reserve, not played), (Chop Suey- not played)
NOTES: "In the End" (blah) is a Linkin Park cover which lost the Battle of the Bands for Jagged Star, and "Unspoken" is a Kevin Aurilio cover which almost won the Battle of the Bands for Jagged Star. The band consisted of Brian Hogan on guitar/vox, Blase Ur on bass/guitar, Jay Alexander back on drums, and Paul Michael yabbadabbadoo Acab-Alperez on vox/piano/bass. Kevin Aurilio contributed his song while his brother, Chris, was lined up to sing in the next round. However, the event was cut short, and we were stuck in 3rd place. Worst of all, there was no money this year!

9th performance:
J.P. Stevens High School 4th Annual GONG SHOW GONG SHOW GONG SHOW, December 14, 2001
SONGS: Beat It, Another Brick In The Wall, Chop Suey, The Chanukkah Song
NOTES: "Beat It" is a Michael Jackson cover which Paul Bachmann (Vox), Brian Hogan (Guitar), Boris Khaykin (Guitar), Blase Ur (Bass), and Steve Ondishin (Drums) punk-rockified under the new name of Berry Jive and the Bachmann Five. "Another Brick In The Wall" is a Pink Floyd cover played by Brian Hogan, Boris Khaykin, Steve Ondishin, Lauren Kaczynski, Paul Bachmann, Mariya Tsekalo, and Heather Alters. "Chop Suey" is a System of a Down song played by Brian Hogan, Kevin Aurilio, Paul Bachmann, Paul Michael "Yabadabadoo" Acab-Alperez, and Jay Alexander. And finally, in order to be the self-proclaimed "King of the Gong Show" for the second year in a row, Brian Hogan played Adam Sandler's "The Chanukkah Song" by himself.

8th performance:
La Boheme Coffee House, J.P. Stevens HS Cafeteria, October 25, 2001
SONGS: Only If It Was Meant To Be, Lie In Our Graves
NOTES: Blase and Brian played guitar for a Brian Hogan penned and sung song titled "Only If It Was Meant To Be." Blase then played guitar for a cover of the Dave Matthews Band song "Lie In Our Graves" with Ravi Makhija on drums and Jen Chia on violin.

7th performance:
Rebecca Levine's Sweet Sixteen, February 10, 2001
SONGS: Unspoken, Revolve, Blase's bass solo, Runaround Blues, Grl Nxt Door, Kryptonite, Heaven's A Sin, Outside

6th performance:

SONGS: Unspoken
NOTES: (With Jason on drums for Unspoken.) Kevin played the Unspoken solo with his guitar behind his back. Brian also performed a song solo called "Outside" by the group Staind. Brian and Kevin also performed with another band called Blue Lights on a cover of Metallicas "Enter Sandman." Blase and Kevin also performed with a pianist on a song called "Canon in D".

5th performance:
Brian's 16th brithday party, December 1, 2000
SONGS: Dear Mother, Unspoken, Heaven's A Sin.
NOTES: Only Blase and Brian played this as a 2 acoustic guitar set. On Unspoken, Blase took the first solo and Brian took the second.

4th performance:
J.P. Stevens High School 1st annual Battle of The Bands, November, 2000
SONGS: First round: Unspoken, Metal// Second round: Runaround Blues
NOTES: Only Blase, Kevin, and Jason played this. Blase played guitar for Unspoken. The intro for Runaround was a solo bass version of the Pink Panther theme. The band (at that time called Jaded Blue) came in Third Place out of around 8 bands and consequently split the $28 prize money 3 ways.

3rd performance:
The J.P. Stevens Coffee House on November 2, 2000. Brian dedicated this as the farewell performance for Robert Ruggiero, Annicka Arcand, and Jennifer Arcand (the co-writer of Dear Mother) who were moving to the other side of the country that week.
SONGS: Grl Nxt Door, Heaven's A Sin, Unspoken, Dear Mother, Runaround Blues. See the setlist
NOTES: Brian, Kevin, and Blase played as an acoustic set. Although Dear Mother appears on the setlist, it was skipped during the performance. All in attendance loved the songs. PICTURES

2nd performance:
Annicka Arcand birthday party at the Womens Fitness Center. Summer 2000
SONGS: Dear Mother, Grl Nxt Door, Unspoken, Can't Help Falling in Love, Blues jam
NOTES: Can't Help Falling In Love is an Elvis cover that was never practiced and totally improvised off of a fakebook sheet. Blues Jam was a 12 bar blues improv jam in the key of A. No drums.

1st performance:
Robert Ruggiero's birthday party at the Womens Fitness Center. Summer 2000
SONGS: Dear Mother, Grl Nxt Door, Freebird
NOTES: Freebird is a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover. Blase joined the band in the afternoon. Once he arrived at Kevin's house, Brian and Kevin taught him Dear Mother and Grl Nxt Door. Quite literally 30 minutes after he joined the band, Blase was playing a show. Lots of fun! And lots of improvisation! No drums.
